This Thanksgiving, the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery team wanted to share how thankful we are to be a part of the Waco community and the Central Texas region. We love serving patients and helping them improve their oral health. We are all incredibly grateful for the support we have received from this community, which is why we have decided to give something back through our first annual Second Chance program.
Poor dental health and missing teeth can have a huge impact on a person’s life. Many people with missing and broken teeth find it difficult to feel comfortable in social situations, and eating normally can become painful. The Second Chance program provides a full-mouth dental restoration to a member of our community, free of charge. Applications are being accepted through November 30th.
If you or someone you love suffers from many missing or broken teeth, but cannot afford dental restoration procedures, we encourage you to visit the program’s website at https://secondchancewaco.com. The selected recipient will receive a beautiful new set of permanent replacement teeth placed by our oral surgeon, Dr. Scott Warren, and his surgical team.
A full-arch restoration involves the placement of a permanent, custom-made row of prosthetic teeth. The new teeth are securely attached to the jaw using four or more dental implants. The dental implants will stimulate the jaw bone, which combats bone loss and preserves oral health. During the procedure, a temporary set of teeth will be placed, allowing patients to enjoy their new smile immediately. Once the dental implants are fully healed, the permanent new teeth will be placed, and patients can eat whatever they please. Patients usually receive excellent results from full-arch replacement procedures, and many report improvements in the appearance, function, and self-confidence.
We are ecstatic to see the number of interested applicants in the program to this point. There is clearly a need for quality oral surgery care in this community, and we are excited to serve our patients using this program in the future. Once the application period is complete, we look forward to hearing your stories and moving forward to the next step in the program. You deserve a second chance at a beautiful, functional smile. If you are interested in the program, share your story with us today.
All of us look forward to hearing from the members of our community and helping someone improve their quality of life. We challenge you to continue the giving trend and give back to this community in your own way, whether it be by donating food to a food bank or other means. Thank you again for reading, and have a happy Thanksgiving!
